Suzanne Chiavari

Suzanne Chiavari is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in the water utility sector. As the Senior Engineering Director at American Water since March 2014, Suzanne has focused on enhancing resiliency, sustainability, and asset management practices while implementing innovative solutions and technologies. Prior to this role, Suzanne served as the Engineering Practice Leader and Vice President of Engineering at New Jersey American Water from 2008 to 2014, managing an annual capital program exceeding $200 million for water and wastewater system improvements. Additionally, Suzanne contributed to academia as an Adjunct Teacher at Rowan University from 2000 to 2002. Academic credentials include a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, both from Drexel University.
