Brad Carson

Brad Carson is a prominent leader in academia and public policy, currently serving as President of The University of Tulsa since July 2021 and as President & Co-Founder of Americans for Responsible Innovation, a nonprofit focused on emerging technologies. Previously, Brad Carson held significant positions including Professor at the University of Virginia Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy, Senior Advisor at The Boston Consulting Group, and Acting Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness, where Brad initiated substantial reforms in the Department of Defense. Other notable roles include Under Secretary of the Army and General Counsel of the Army, appointed by President Barack Obama. Brad Carson's career also includes leadership at Cherokee Nation Businesses and military service in the US Navy during Operation Iraqi Freedom, earning commendations such as the Bronze Star. An alumnus of the University of Oxford, Baylor University, and the University of Oklahoma College of Law, Brad Carson holds degrees in politics, philosophy, and economics as well as a Juris Doctorate with highest honors.
