Julie Varughese

Julie Varughese, MD, serves as the Senior Vice President, Programs and Chief Medical Officer at Americares since January 2015, and also held positions as Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of the Technical Unit, Medical Officer and Director of Medical Outreach, and Medical Officer. Concurrently, Julie Varughese has been associated with Nuvance Health Medical Practice since May 2019. Previous roles include service at Norwalk Medical Group, P.C. from October 2012 to April 2019, as well as a position as Attending Physician at Montefiore Health System in 2009-2010. Early career experience includes a staff role with AmeriCorps VISTA from July 2000 to June 2001. Julie Varughese's education includes an Infectious Disease Fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, an Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Residency at Rush University, a course in Global Health and Tropical Medicine at the University of Minnesota, and a Medical Degree from Rush University, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from Knox College.
