Gregory E. Deavens

Greg Deavens is the current Director at America’s Health Insurance Plans. Greg has also served as a Board Member at The Executive Leadership Council (ELC) from September 2012 to December 2020, where they were Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee. From January 2010 to November 2013, Greg Deavens served as a Member of the Board of Directors at Hartford Hospital, where they were also a member of both the Finance Committee and the Governance & Nominating Committee. From September 2012 to December 2016, Greg Deavens was SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT & CORPORATE CONTROLLER at MassMutual Financial Group, where they were responsible for enterprise financial reporting, investment accounting, benefits accounting, accounting policy and financial systems. In this role, Greg Deavens also led a team of approximately 130 professionals and reported to the enterprise CFO. From January 2006 to March 2012, Greg Deavens served as SVP & CFO - US Insurance Group at MassMutual Financial Group. Most recently, from January 2017 to December 2020, Greg Deavens served as EVP, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer at Independence Health Group (Independence Blue Cross).

Greg Deavens received their Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. Greg later became a member of the Parents Council at Elon University. Hazelwood Central Senior High was their alma mater.
