Tom James

Tom James currently serves as the Corporate Medical Director for Medical Policy at The AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies, a position held since October 2012, where responsibilities include developing the Medical Policy Unit and representing the organization at various national healthcare organizations. Prior experience includes roles as Medical Director for National Network Operations and Physician Advisor at Humana, Inc., and part-time internist/pediatrician at Norton Healthcare. Tom has been involved with the AQA Alliance, Greater Louisville Charter Value Partnership, and Colon Cancer Prevention Project in various capacities, including board membership and health plan representation. Tom's educational background includes an MD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Temple University - Lewis Katz School of Medicine, and the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, alongside a BA in Chemistry from Duke University. Additionally, Tom is a Fellow and Life Member of the American College of Physician Executives.
