Toni Johnson

Toni Johnson, MHA, CHPS has extensive experience in healthcare compliance and health information management. Toni currently serves as the Director of Compliance at AmeriHealth Caritas since May 2021. Prior to their current role, they worked as an Ethics & Compliance Officer at JFK Medical Center Main & North Campuses - HCA from January 2018 to May 2021, and at Palms West Hospital - HCA from October 2014 to January 2018.

Before joining HCA, Toni held the position of Director of Health Information Management/Privacy Officer at CHOC Children's from August 2010 to September 2014. In this role, they were responsible for all aspects of the Health Information Management Department and served as the Privacy Officer. Toni also chaired various committees and played a key role in implementing new systems and processes.

Toni's earlier experience includes roles as Director of Health Information Management/Privacy Officer at Central Florida Regional Hospital - HCA from June 2009 to August 2010, at Shands Lake Shore from June 2007 to June 2009, and at Palms West Hospital - HCA from November 2005 to July 2007. Toni also served as the Records Coordinator and Co-Ethics and Compliance Officer during their tenure at Palms West Hospital.

Prior to their roles in health information management, Toni worked as a Supervisor at Medica University of South Carolina from June 1998 to April 2004. Toni Johnson's work experience demonstrates their expertise in compliance, health information management, privacy, and leading healthcare committees.

Toni Johnson, MHA, CHPS, holds a Master's degree in Health Administration from the Medical University of South Carolina, completed in 2004. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology from the College of Charleston in 1998. Additionally, Toni has obtained certification in Healthcare Privacy and Security from the American Health Information Management Association in 2012.
