Michael Pierson

Michael Pierson currently serves as Corporate Executive Vice President, Chief Governance Officer, and Corporate Secretary at Ameris Bank since March 2020. Prior to this role, Michael held the position of Executive Vice President Chief Operations Officer at Ameris Bank following a merger with Fidelity Bank from June 2019 to March 2020. Michael's extensive career at Fidelity Bank spanned from May 1994 to March 2020, during which time responsibilities included Executive Vice President, Chief Risk Officer, Commercial Banking Manager, and Commercial Banker. Michael holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business - Finance from the University of Georgia's Terry College of Business (1989 - 1993) and completed the Stonier Graduate School of Banking (2005 - 2007).
