Mike Horist

Mike Horist has extensive experience in emergency response and management, currently serving as the Lead Rescue Technician at Amerisafe Group since December 2018. Previously, Mike worked as a Confined Space Rescue Technician at Looking from December 2018 to December 2022 and served as a Fire Lieutenant with the Chicago Fire Department for over 32 years. Additional qualifications include certifications as an Emergency Medical Technician, Hazardous Materials Technician, Haz-Mat Incident Commander, and Rope Rescue Technician. Mike also held leadership roles as CEO and COO of Timberwork Construction and President of Castle Plumbing. Military service includes time as a helicopter mechanic in the United States Army Reserve. Education includes training at City Colleges of Chicago-Malcolm X College and Gordon Tech in Fire Science and Rescue Operations.
