Kathy Roussel

Kathy Roussel has an extensive work experience in various roles and organizations. Kathy most recently served as the Head of Advocacy and Engagement at amfori - Trade with Purpose since December 2022. Prior to that, they were the Director of Public Affairs - Interim at the same organization. From September 2019 to April 2022, Kathy held the position of Senior Manager - Policy and Government Affairs, where they were responsible for designing and implementing strategies and activities related to amfori's policy agenda at both global and European levels.

Before joining amfori, Kathy worked at the European Commission as an Expert Evaluator and Rapporteur, starting in April 2016. Prior to that, they served as the General Secretary at Comité de liaison des organismes agricoles et alimentaires, where they played a key role in coordinating and finalizing the merger between the organization and Trade Promotion Europe.

Kathy also has experience as the Director of Brussels office at AHDB - Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board, where they managed projects, conducted analysis and strategy, and handled communication for the organization's activities. Kathy worked in this role from December 2009 to August 2019.

Before that, Kathy served as an EU policy advisor at the Meat and Livestock Commission and as a legal advisor at Thalys International. Kathy also had internship experiences at the Committee of the Regions and the French Embassy.

Kathy Roussel has a diverse education history, with a focus on law and political sciences. Kathy began their education in 1995 at Sciences Po Toulouse, where they obtained a Master 1 degree in Political Sciences, graduating in 1998.

In the following year, from 1999 to 2000, Kathy pursued their studies at Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd, where they completed a Master 1 in European Law.

Continuing their educational journey, Kathy attended Université Toulouse 1 Capitole from 2000 to 2001, earning a Master 2 degree in European Law.

Finally, in 2001 to 2002, Kathy studied at Université Paris Cité, specializing in Export Law and obtaining another Master 2 degree.

In addition to their formal education, Kathy has also obtained several certifications. In 2016, they completed the "Inspiring Excellence" program at Parity Professionals. Kathy also completed a MOOC on cooperation in agriculture offered by COOP DE FRANCE in the same year. In 2021, Kathy obtained the amfori BSCI Auditor Certificate from amfori - Trade with Purpose. Most recently, in 2022, they received a Person of Trust training certificate from Mensura.
