Frank Olsen

Frank Olsen is a seasoned biochemist with extensive experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Currently serving as Director at Amgen Inc. since March 2005, Frank oversees the Purification and Cell Culture departments, focusing on the commercialization of monoclonal antibodies and peptibodies while collaborating closely with manufacturing and pilot plants in a global network. Prior to this role, Frank was a Research Advisor at Eli Lilly from 1998 to 2005, leading cross-functional scientific efforts in process development and commercialization of Xigris. Frank also held positions at ZymoGenetics as a Senior Scientist and Pilot Plant manager from 1993 to 1998, and at Novo Nordisk from 1977 to 1993 as a Senior Scientist, where contributions included microbial screening and the initiation of cell culture activities. Frank holds a Danish degree in Biochemistry from the University of Copenhagen, earned between 1970 and 1977.
