Matthew L. McGann

Matthew McGann is the Dean of Admission & Financial Aid at Amherst College, a position held since July 2018. Prior to this role, McGann served at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in various capacities, including Director of Admissions and Associate Director of Admissions and Director of Recruitment from June 2008 to June 2018, and earlier as Associate Director of Admissions and Assistant Director of Admissions from 2001 to 2008. McGann holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Higher Education/Higher Education Administration and a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Higher Education Administration Specialization from Northeastern University, completed between 2012 and 2017 and 2010 and 2012, respectively. Additionally, McGann earned a Bachelor of Science (S.B.) in Management Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, graduating in 2000.
