Michael Stein

Michael Stein is a seasoned professional in philanthropy and foundation relations with a substantial background in both higher education and nonprofit sectors. Currently serving as the Director of Foundation Relations at Amherst College since April 2022, Michael previously held various roles including Philanthropy Officer at Baystate Health Foundation and Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Throughout a diverse career, experiences also include positions such as Senior Account Manager at PBS Distribution and Program Coordinator within the Amherst Program in Critical Theory at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Michael holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, supplemented by a Master's degree in Politics from The New School for Social Research and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Philosophy from Wheaton College.
