Kong Her

Kong Her is Vice President and head of North American fixed income investment risk management at Columbia Threadneedle Investments, the asset management subsidiary of Ameriprise Financial. Kong joined Columbia Threadneedle in 2015 and is responsible for the risk oversight of fixed income assets totaling in excess of $100B. Previously, he was the head of global fixed income investments at the University of Wisconsin Foundation overseeing traditional cash bonds, credit-based alternative investments and hedge fund strategies, and short duration liquidity portfolios. Prior to that, Kong managed a multi-sector institutional fixed income portfolio at Allianz Investment Management. He received his BBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with dual concentrations in finance and risk management and obtained his master’s degree in quantitative finance from DePaul University.

Kong is an active member of the community. In addition to Wilder, he serves or has served with Headwaters Foundation for Social Justice, Neighborhood House, and Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity. He is also a founding member of Building More Philanthropy with Purpose (BMPP), a family-based philanthropic giving circle which has raised and distributed over $100k in micro-grants. Kong resides in the Shadow Falls neighborhood of Saint Paul with his wife, Kaohly, and daughters Taylor and Ayden. He enjoys spending time at their family’s hobby farm in Stillwater, Minnesota.
