The AMIB was founded in 1968 by a small group of parents of young adults with developmental disabilities, their friends and professionals, incorporating in the State of New Jersey in 1970, as a not for profit entity. AMIB is a growing non-profit social service organization focused on providing community based services to children and adults with developmental iand intellectual disabilities as well as a visual impairment. AMIB Inc. Mission Statement: The Association For The Multiple Impaired Blind, Inc. will promote community integration and participation of people who are blind or visually impaired and have multiple impairments by providing opportunities for community living, training and support.
