Ashish Gupta

Ashish Gupta has worked in a variety of roles in the finance industry since 2000. Ashish began their career as an Analyst at Trilogy in 2000, followed by an Associate/Analyst role at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in 2001. In 2006, they joined Eden Capital Management as a Senior Analyst. In 2008, they moved to Vollero Beach Capital as a Partner and Research Director, where they were the lead manager for Oil Services with research oversight over select Industrial subsectors. In 2013, they founded and became the Managing Partner of Arete Investment Group, a long/short fund with focus on equities in Energy, Industrials, and Basic Materials. AUM reached $750mm and gross invested capital $1.5b at peak in 2017. In 2017, Gupta Social Impact, LLC was founded, with Ashish as the Managing Partner. The family office provides capital, board, advisory and executive services to early and growth stage companies focused on measurable positive social impact, particularly within the education and financial technology sectors. In 2021, Ashish became the Executive Vice President of Business Development & Finance at Amira Learning, the first intelligent Reading Assistant that listens, assesses, and offers personalized coaching.

Ashish Gupta studied at The University of Texas at Austin from 1996 to 2000, majoring in Canfield BHP/Finance. Ashish then completed a Chartered Financial Analyst program from 2003 to 2016.
