Melissa Lautenschlager

Director of Customer Success at Amira Learning

Melissa Lautenschlager has over 25 years of experience in education. Melissa began their career in 1996 as a High School Science Teacher at Stafford High School. Melissa then worked as a High School Science Teacher at Austin Independent School District in 2000. In 2002, they joined Bastrop ISD as a High School Science Teacher and Science Curriculum Specialist. In this role, they supported curriculum and instruction for teachers on four campuses and created district assessments and analyzed data to drive instructional development. In 2013, they were Lead Math and Science Coordinator at KIPP Austin Public Schools, where they led the development of college-preparatory secondary science curriculum and assessments, planned and executed professional development, and provided instructional coaching. In 2018, they became Director of Curriculum and Instruction at KIPP Texas Public Schools. In 2019, they joined Texas Education Agency as Director of Instructional Materials and Implementation and Director of Instructional Materials Quality. Currently, they are the Director of Customer Success at Amira Learning since 2022.

Melissa Lautenschlager obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Marine Biology from Texas A&M University Galveston Campus between 1992 and 1996. Melissa then went on to receive their Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix between 2005 and 2007.
