Amizade
Melissa Nix currently serves as the Director of Development and Outreach at Amizade, a position held since January 2019, following their role as Communications and Development Coordinator. Prior professional experience includes working as a Regional Representative and Internationalization Coordinator at Centro Universitario EUSA, as well as a Master's student at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. Melissa Nix holds a Master's degree in International Education Management from the Middlebury Institute and a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design and Art History from Texas Christian University. Additional education includes study at the Lorenzo de' Medici Italian International Institute.

Founded in 1994, Amizade offers volunteer programs and service-learning courses in 12 countries: Bolivia, Brazil, Poland, Germany, Puerto Rico, Ghana, Jamaica, India, Trinidad & Tobago, Northern Ireland, Tanzania, and the United States. Through these programs, Amizade has mobilized over 12,000 volunteers who have contributed more than 100,000 hours of service to communities worldwide.
