Jesse Miller has a diverse work experience that spans several industries. In 2011, they worked as a Forestry Technician (Intern) for the U.S. Forest Service. Jesse then pursued their interest in plant pathology and joined the Southern Illinois University - Plant Pathology Program in 2014 as a Graduate Research Assistant. During their time there, they gained expertise in research trials on various crops, statistical analysis, and the use of pesticides and fertilizers. In 2016, they transitioned to the cannabis industry, working as a Cultivation Manager for The Giving Tree Wellness Center. Currently, Jesse holds the position of General Manager Production and Head Horticulturist at Nature's Medicines, starting in 2022.

Jesse Miller obtained a Bachelor's degree in Plant and Soil Science and Agribusiness from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale in 2014. Jesse then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Plant, Soil and Agricultural Systems from the same institution, completing it in 2016. In addition to their academic achievements, Jesse also holds a Class A Commercial Drivers License obtained in October 2015 from the Illinois Secretary of State. Jesse also has a certification as an Illinois Licensed Pesticide Operator for Demonstration and Research, although the institution and specific dates for this certification are not provided.
