Dinushika Dissanayake, PhD, serves as the Deputy Regional Director (Research) for Amnesty International, focusing on human rights issues in South Asia, the EU, the Balkans, and Turkey since November 2017. Prior to this role, Dissanayake was the Executive Director at Law and Society Trust from February 2014 to December 2017, where strategic direction and program execution were key responsibilities. Dissanayake also provided legal expertise as a Senior Consultant, specializing in economic, social, and cultural rights, and practiced law at the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka from January 2010 to June 2015. Additionally, Dissanayake gained experience as a Legal Intern at the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia. Educational qualifications include a PhD from the University of Colombo, an LLM from New York University School of Law, and an LLB from the University of Colombo.
