Dr. Kate Moriarty

Deputy Program Director Campaigns And Education: Head Of Human Rights Education at Amnesty International

Dr. Kate Moriarty is an accomplished professional in the field of human rights education and advocacy, currently serving as the Deputy Program Director for Campaigns and Education at Amnesty International since May 2022. Prior experience includes roles such as Senior Advisor for Strategic Engagement and Dialogue at the Inter-agency Network for Education in Emergencies (INEE) and Global Education Policy Lead at Theirworld. Dr. Moriarty has also worked as a Senior Education Consultant with various organizations, including the World Bank and UNESCO, contributing to significant educational reports and advocacy strategies. Earlier positions include Global Advocacy Manager at the Malala Fund and Chief of Section for Education for Peace and Human Rights at UNESCO. Dr. Moriarty holds a Doctorate in International Education from the University of Sussex, an MA in Latin American Development and Human Rights from the University of London, a BSc in Sociology from The London School of Economics and Political Science, and a PGCE from the University of Greenwich.
