Neerav Abani has worked in a variety of roles across the energy and technology industries. In 1999, they began their career as a Project Intern at the Sardar Patel Renewable Energy Research Institute (SPRERI). Neerav then worked as an Engineer at Larsen and Tourbo Ltd. in India in 2000. In 2002, they were a Mechanical Engineer at GE Global Research. From 2004 to 2010, they were a PhD-Research Assistant and Staff at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. From 2010 to 2011, they were a Postdoctoral Research Associate at MIT, focusing on clean energy solutions. From 2011 to 2019, they were a Senior Principal Engineer and Senior Staff Engineer at Achates Power, where they led teams to execute computational modeling and product development projects. From 2019 to 2022, they were a General Manager (Engineering) and Senior Staff Engineer at John Deere, where they established a Model Based Systems Development group and worked on product engineering for several product lines. Currently, they are an Industry Advisor and Consulting at CleanTech Product Development and a Manager of System Integration and Product Development at Amogy, where they are responsible for leading technology development and executing vehicle integration projects.
Neerav Abani has a diverse educational background. Neerav holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering (Major) and Mathematics (Minor) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Neerav also has a MS in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). Their undergraduate degree is a B. Engg. in Mechanical Engineering from Sardar Patel University. Neerav also has a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Combustion, Emissions and Fluid Dynamics, Computational Modeling and Simulation from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In addition, they have two certifications: a Machine Learning course from Coursera Course Certificates obtained in July 2017 and a Six Sigma Green Belt from GE Global Research obtained in April 2003.
