Patrick also worked as the President of Zafgen, Inc., where they provided business leadership to the start-up biopharmaceutical firm with a focus on rare disease indications. Patrick developed the company's long and medium-term strategy, led clinical development scenarios, and navigated the organization through a restructuring.
Before their role at Zafgen, Patrick held positions at Bristol-Myers Squibb as the SVP Global Commercialization Cardiovascular & Metabolics, where they directed global commercial operations in partnership with AstraZeneca and Pfizer. Patrick also worked at Novo Nordisk, where they held various roles, including SVP Global Marketing & Medical Affairs and VP Sales, Managed Health Care & Government Accounts.
Patrick's earlier career includes roles as a Regional Business Director, Senior Director Marketing, Project Leader Business Acceleration, and Director Marketing at Novo Nordisk. Patrick also worked at Parke-Davis France (now Pfizer) as a Product Manager, Sales Representative, Market Research & Business Development Manager, and Human Resources & Training Manager.

Patrick Loustau has a diverse education history. In 2005, they attended Harvard Business School and completed The General Manager Program (TGMP16) with a concentration in General Management. Additionally, they hold a Master of Arts (MA) degree from I.A.E. Bordeaux in the field of Business. Patrick also pursued further studies at University Paris-X, Nanterre, where they earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Psychology. Lastly, they obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Physiology from University Paris-XI, Orsay.
