Senior Product Designer at Amount

Nigel (Tianyang) Lu has extensive experience in product design and user experience (UX/UI) design. Nigel (Tianyang) is currently working at Amount as a Senior Product Designer, where they are responsible for designing the credit card account opening experience for top financial institutions in the US. Nigel (Tianyang) is also involved in designing Amount's client portal for self-onboarding and configuration.

Prior to their current role, Nigel worked at Logitech as an Experience Design Intern, where they designed a mobile-first application for non-traditional gamers and developed UX specifications for the Aurora Collection.

Nigel (Tianyang) also served as the User Experience Lead at SEDS@UM, where they researched, designed, and user-tested an augmented reality/mixed reality user interface to assist NASA astronauts with lunar exploration missions. The design received positive feedback from NASA representatives, and further user testing was conducted at the Johnston Space Station.

Previously, Nigel worked as a Product Designer at iaconicDesign Inc., where they designed BC Hydro's electric vehicle charging stations, including the station appearance, cable management solutions, and instruction system UI.

Nigel (Tianyang) also has experience as an Industrial Designer at GaNPower International Inc., where they designed GaNPower's Mini Laptop adaptor, and as a UI/UX Designer at AVI-SPL, where they designed a tablet-based AV control center for Electronic Arts (EA) Vancouver.

Nigel (Tianyang) Lu obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Industrial Design from Emily Carr University of Art and Design between the years 2013 and 2017. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science in Information degree with a specialization in UX Research and Design from the University of Michigan - School of Information, which they completed in the years 2019 to 2021.
