Chia-Ying (James) Lin has an extensive work experience in the field of biomedical engineering and orthopedic surgery. Chia-Ying (James) is the founder, president, and CEO of Amplicore Inc., a company they established in 2019. Prior to this, they held multiple academic positions at the University of Cincinnati, including the Mary S. and Joseph S. Stern Jr. Endowed Chair and Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, as well as the Dane A. and Mary Louise Miller Endowed Chair in Biomedical Engineering.
Lin also has experience in the industry, having co-founded Tissue Regeneration Systems, Inc., in 2008, where they served until 2019. Chia-Ying (James) has held academic positions at the University of Michigan Medical School, where they worked as an assistant professor in the Departments of Neurosurgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, and Biomedical Engineering from 2007 to 2014. Additionally, they served as the Director of the Spine Research Laboratory in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Michigan from 2005 to 2014.

Chia-Ying (James) Lin began their education at National Taiwan University from 1993 to 1997, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. Chia-Ying (James) then pursued further studies at the University of Michigan, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from 2000 to 2002. Following this, they continued their academic journey at the University of Michigan, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from 2002 to 2004.
