Marcela Briones

Scientist I, Cell Engineering Team at AmplifyBio

Marcela Briones is currently serving as a Scientist I in the Cell Engineering Team at AmplifyBio since January 2023. Prior to this role, Marcela Briones has been a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of California, San Francisco, since November 2016, working under Principal Investigator Alejandro Sweet-Cordero on projects related to long non-coding RNAs in Ewing sarcoma and the development of a lentiviral delivery-based CRISPRi system. Marcela Briones completed a PhD in Molecular Biology at IPICyT from 2009 to 2015, where research focused on the oxidative stress response in Candida glabrata, also under the guidance of Principal Investigator Alejandro De Las Peñas Nava. In addition, Marcela Briones earned a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacobiology from Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí from 2001 to 2005.
