Troy McDonald

Troy McDonald is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in the oil and gas sector, currently serving as Group General Manager - Major Projects at Ampol since February 2019. In this role, Troy is responsible for the strategic development, planning, and execution of major investment projects across the organization, focusing on both conventional and renewable energy sectors while fostering relationships with government, joint venture partners, and senior stakeholders. Prior to Ampol, Troy held various leadership positions at Origin Energy from August 2010 to July 2018, including General Manager Integrated Gas Operations and General Manager Technical Group, leading teams in the safe operation and maintenance of gas assets. Troy began a career at BP in January 1990, accumulating over two decades of experience in downstream refining and senior operational leadership. Troy holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Queensland University of Technology.
