Amputee Coalition
Johnny Rocco Vacca serves as a member of the Veterans Affairs Committee for the Dutchess County Legislature and is an Advisory Board Member for the Organizing Ukraine Relief Foundation, focusing on support for Ukrainian war survivors. Vacca also holds the title of Warfighters Ambassador for Move United and is involved with various veterans' initiatives, including serving as a Veteran Peer Mentor for MHADC Veterans Programs and a crisis counselor for Project Hope. Additional roles include Volunteer Walkway Ambassador at Walkway Over the Hudson, Immediate Past Board President at Taconic Resources for Independence, and advocacy work with the Amputee Coalition. Vacca's extensive community involvement spans decades, and educational achievements include multiple certifications in peer mentoring and safety training.

The Amputee Coalition is a donor-supported, voluntary health organization serving more than two million people with limb loss/limb difference and more than 28 million people at risk for amputation. The Amputee Coalition is the nation’s leading organization on limb loss, dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for amputees and their families, improving patient care and preventing limb loss through its management of the National Limb Loss Resource Center. With the generous support of the public, we are helping amputees live well with limb loss/limb difference, raising awareness about limb loss prevention and ensuring amputees have a voice in matters affecting their ability to live full, thriving lives.
