Aiden Lockwood has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Aiden started their career in 2008 as a Post Doctoral Research Associate at the University of Sheffield, where they worked on projects related to electron microscopy and nanomanipulation. In 2009, they became a STEM Ambassador for STEMNET, a role they held until 2014.

In 2011, Aiden took on the role of Treasurer at the Sheffield Engineering Researcher Society. From 2012 to 2014, they worked at Sandvik Coromant as a Development Engineer and later as a Project Manager. Their responsibilities at Sandvik Coromant included new tool designs, R&D strategy development, and software development for data processing.

In 2014, Aiden joined the AMRC (Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre) initially as a Senior Project Engineer and later as a Technical Fellow for Manufacturing Informatics, Industry 4.0, and AI. In these roles, they led teams, provided technical leadership in areas such as data analytics and artificial intelligence, and coordinated group activities. Their responsibilities also included project management, systems integration, and digital strategy development.

At AMRC, Aiden's work focused on areas like automating assembly processes, large volume metrology, robotics, and process monitoring and control. Their role covered all aspects of data, including sensor capture, network tools, data storage, and visualization.

Overall, Aiden Lockwood has a strong background in research, project management, technical leadership, and digital strategy development, with a particular focus on manufacturing informatics and advanced technologies like AI and Industry 4.0.

Aiden Lockwood obtained a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from The University of Sheffield, spanning from 2005 to 2008. Prior to that, they pursued an MEng in Automatic Control Systems Engineering from the same institution, attending from 2001 to 2005. In addition to their degrees, Aiden Lockwood has acquired additional certifications throughout their career. Aiden obtained the APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ) from the Association for Project Management in January 2022 and became TOGAF9 Certified by The Open Group in April 2018.
