Bhavani R. Rao

Bhavani Rao R has extensive experience in academia and gender advocacy. Currently serving as the Director of the Center for Women's Empowerment and Gender Equality and Dean of the School for Social and Behavioural Sciences at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham since September 2015, Bhavani is also the UNESCO Chair at the same center. Additionally, Bhavani has held the position of Director at AMMACHI Labs since January 2009 and is the National Coordinator for the Gender Equality Working Group of C20 India, a role undertaken since January 2023.
