Dave Thoonsen

Dave Thoonsen has work experience in the field of network engineering. Dave started their career in 2015 at Veerman ICT Services, where they worked as a Netwerk Engineer until October 2017. From November 2017 to July 2018, they worked as a Support Engineer 2e lijn at Interconnect Services BV. Dave then returned to Interconnect Services BV in August 2018 as a Network Engineer until December 2020. In December 2020, they joined AMS-IX as a Network Engineer.

Dave Thoonsen attended Scalda College voor Techniek en Design from 2011 to 2015, where they obtained a degree in Netwerkbeheerder (Network Administrator). Dave'sfield of study during this time was Netwerken (Networking).

In addition to their college degree, Dave Thoonsen has obtained several certifications in the field. In May 2016, they became a Juniper Networks Certified Associate Junos (JNCIA-Junos) through Juniper Networks. In January 2016, they obtained the Cisco CCNA Security certification from Cisco. Dave also holds the Cisco CCNA Routing and Switching certification, which they obtained in September 2015. Dave further expanded their knowledge and skills by acquiring the Cisco CCNA Wireless certification in November 2016, the Cisco CCNP Routing and Switching certification in September 2018, and the Certified Administrator certification from F5 Networks in September 2019.

Dave Thoonsen continued their professional development by obtaining additional certifications from Juniper Networks. Dave became a Juniper Networks Enterprise Routing and Switching Specialist (JNCIS-ENT) in November 2018, a Juniper Networks Security Specialist (JNCIS-SEC) in February 2018, and a Juniper Networks Service Provider Routing and Switching Specialist (JNCIS-SP) in February 2021.

Most recently, in March 2023, Dave obtained the RIPE Database Associate certification from RIPE NCC.
