Richard Hayes

Richard Hayes, PE, currently serves as Engineering Manager at Amsted Rail since March 2020. Previously, Richard held the position of General Manager at FAREVA RICHMOND, INC from 2012 to 2018 and was the Sr. Director of Manufacturing at FAREVA for a brief period in 2011. A significant portion of Richard's career was spent at Pfizer from 1993 to 2011, where roles included Sr. Director of Topicals PPU, Associate Director of Quality Assurance, Manager of Quality Assurance, Production Manager, Manager of Engineering and Maintenance, and Process Engineer. Earlier experience includes working as a Mechanical Engineer at International Paper and serving in the US Navy as a Nuclear Machinist Mate, honorably discharged at the rank of MM1(SW). Richard holds a Master of Engineering in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Old Dominion University.
