Jacob de Baan

Jacob de Baan is a seasoned professional in the fields of art and design, currently serving as Senior Associate Professor in the Industrial Design Department at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University since September 2023. In addition to this role, Jacob functions as an Advisor for the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts, supporting the enrichment of the cultural landscape in Amsterdam. With extensive experience as Director of Studio Jacob de Baan since 1995, Jacob has held various academic and design leadership positions, including educator at Delft University of Technology, where contributions to multiple programs were made from November 2018 to September 2023. Previous roles have included Art Director at Heinen Delfts Blauw, Guest Teacher at Istanbul Technical University, and managerial positions at the Van Gogh Museum. Jacob de Baan's educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from Gerrit Rietveld Academie and studies at Delft University of Technology.
