Karan Kothari

Karan Kothari is a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Amtrak, specializing in Rail Vehicle Dynamics, Testing, and Validation. Previously, Karan served as a Mechanical Engineer at Amtrak from 2018 to 2022, where they focused on diagnosing truck hunting issues and improving railcar safety and reliability. Karan's earlier experience includes roles as a Graduate Research Assistant at Virginia Tech and as the Powertrain Department Lead for Team Eco Titans at VIT University, where they received the "Special Achiever Award" for their performance at the Shell Eco Marathon Asia. Karan holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech and a Master’s degree in Project Management from Harrisburg University of Science and Technology.
