Steve Humes

Steve Humes is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in track engineering and management. Currently serving as Assistant Vice President of Engineering Services at Amtrak since November 2022, Steve previously held roles including Chief Engineer-Track at Gannett Fleming and Deputy Chief Engineer-Track at Amtrak. From February 2011 to April 2018, Steve contributed to the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) in various capacities, including Assistant Chief Engineer and Director of Engineering-Track & Utility. Steve’s engineering career began at Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority in 2000, where multiple engineering positions were held, culminating in a strong foundation of skills in track design, survey, and construction support. Steve holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Penn State University, earned in May 2000.
