Felipe Beato has been working in the bioprocess industry since 2011. From 2011 to 2016, they worked at Amyris in various roles, starting as a Fermentation Intern, then progressing to Jr Fermentation Analyst, Fermentation Analyst, and finally Fermentation Specialist. Theirroles included GMO handling, microbiological/chemical analysis, operation of bench-top bioreactors, process simulation and optimization, scaling-down, technology transfer, software programming, critical analysis of results and data report, design of experiments, elaboration of reports, SOPs and tech transfer documents, report of KPIs, training of personnel, and process scale-up from pilot plant to industrial scale. In 2016, they also took on the role of Scientist II - Fermentation Process Development and Research and Process Support Specialist.
Felipe Beato obtained a Master of Science (MS) in Biotechnology from USP - Universidade de São Paulo between 2013 and 2016. In 2014 and 2015, they were a Visiting MSc Student in Biotechnology at DTU - Technical University of Denmark. Felipe obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Molecular Biology from Universidade Estadual de Campinas between 2008 and 2011. In 2019, they earned an Industrial Biotechnology (DelftX) certification from Technische Universiteit Delft. In 2017, they received a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from Escola EDTI.
