Jacqueline (Jacy) Humphries has worked in a variety of roles since 2009. From 2009 to 2010, they were a Biology Tutor at Scripps College. Jacqueline (Jacy) was also a Florist at Del Mar Flower Company during this time. From 2010 to 2013, they were an Independent Researcher and a Laboratory Teaching Assistant at Scripps College. From 2013 to 2018, they were a PhD Student in Biological Sciences at UCSD. Currently, they are a Scientist, Strain Engineering at Amyris, where they are responsible for guiding overall infrastructure strategy, facilitating cross-departmental development efforts, and communicating progress to stakeholders.

Jacqueline (Jacy) Humphries completed their education history with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biological and Biomedical Sciences from the University of California, San Diego/Salk Institute between 2013 and 2017. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) with Honors in Biology from Scripps College between 2009 and 2013. Her educational journey began with a High School Diploma from Torrey Pines High School between 2005 and 2009.
