In 2012, they were a Content Aggregator at Run Communications Inc., a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Concordia University, a PHD Student, a Research Assistant, and an Intern in Cell Biology at Concordia University. In 2022, they began working as a Scientist I at Amyris. During their Postdoctoral Fellowship, they established a workflow for pre-processing and fermentation of dairy industry by-products using non-Saccharomyces yeasts, assessed fermentation conditions and optimized control algorithms through integration of data from multiple sources, and was the team lead for genetic and metabolic engineering of yeasts for organic acid synthesis. During their Research Assistant role at Concordia University, they performed iterative gene knockout in E. coli as guided by a metabolic model and constructed multi-gene plasmids for protein expression in E. coli.
Lauren Narcross attended Concordia University from 2006 to 2010, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc Hon) in Molecular & Cell Biology. Lauren then attended McGill University from 2010 to 2012, obtaining a Master of Science (MSc) in Microbiology & Immunology. Lauren is currently attending Concordia University, where they are pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Biology, General.
