Subasthika Thangadurai has a diverse work experience. In 2020, they worked as a Woke Vote Fellow for Think Rubix LLC, a Student Researcher for the University of Calgary, a CBS Lifesavers Vice President and a CBS Lifesavers Jr. Executive External for Canadian Blood Services, and a President, Vice President Marketing, and Professional Events Coordinator for the Biology Students' Association: University of Calgary. In 2021, they were an Associate Scientist 1 | Strain Engineering for Amyris, an Advisor and Researcher for iGEM Calgary, a Marketing Intern for Genome Canada Transplant Consortium, and a Communications Intern for St. Michael's Hospital. In 2021, they received a gold medal and nominations for best sustainability, best presentation, and best project on the environmental track for their work with iGEM Calgary.
Subasthika Thangadurai is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biology/Biological Sciences, Honors at the University of Calgary, which they began in 2019 and is expected to complete in 2022. Subasthika also participated in the Data Science for Social Good Program at the University of Washington in 2021, focusing on Artificial Intelligence for Public Health. Prior to that, Subasthika completed their High School Diploma at Winston Churchill High School in 2019, after attending International Baccalaureate from 2016-2019. Subasthika has also obtained additional certifications, such as the Open Innovation Challenge: First Place from TECHNATION in March 2022, QPR Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper from the QPR Institute in April 2020, and Piano Level 8 from The Royal Conservatory of Music in 2018.
