Oliver Schmitz

Oliver Schmitz serves as the Chair of Applied Analytical Chemistry at Universität Duisburg-Essen since September 2012. Additionally, Oliver is the Founder of the Teaching and Research Center for Separation, which focuses on education in separation techniques and mass spectrometry. Since June 2017, Oliver has held the position of Chairman for the HPLC 2021 Conference and has been active in organizing analytica conferences in China and Vietnam, as well as previously in India. Oliver co-founded iGenTraX UG, specializing in new ion source development for GC and HPLC integration with mass spectrometry. Previous roles include Chair of Analytical Chemistry at the University of Wuppertal, postdoctoral research positions in molecular toxicology and pharmacology, and a robust educational background with a Ph.D. and Diplom in Analytical Chemistry from Bergische Universität Wuppertal.
