Brian Tuttle

Brian Tuttle has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Brian currently holds the position of Aerospace Engineer, Associate Principal at Analytical Mechanics Associates since August 2021. Brian previously worked as a Scientist III at the same company from March 2013 to January 2023, where they contributed to the development of signal processing tools and the documentation of NASA's Aircraft Noise Prediction Program.

Before that, Brian worked as a Scientific Computing Consultant at Penn State, Department of Geosciences from February 2005 to August 2012. In this role, they developed and maintained climate-socioeconomic models, Earth-system models, and ice-sheet simulations using Fortran90, Matlab, and R. Brian also provided programming support on parallel computing platforms and developed web applications for scientific collaboration.

Brian's earlier experiences include being a Doctoral Researcher and Teaching Assistant at Penn State, Graduate Program in Acoustics from January 2000 to August 2012 and January 2002 to May 2002, respectively. Brian also served as a Graduate Research Assistant at Penn State, Computational Thermo/Aero-acoustics Group from September 1999 to April 2003, where they built and maintained a Beowulf cluster and developed a numerical model of nonlinear acoustic streaming.

Prior to their academic roles, Brian worked as a System Administrator at Penn State, Graduate Program in Acoustics from September 1997 to August 1999 and as a Research Assistant at Penn State, Applied Research Lab from September 1995 to August 1997. Brian also worked as an Audio Mastering Engineer at Cinram, Inc from July 1992 to September 1994.

Brian started their career as a Graduate Assistant at Ball State University, School of Music from September 1991 to May 1992 and as a Recording Engineer at Ball State University from January 1989 to August 1991.

Brian Tuttle received a Bachelor's degree in Music Theory and Composition from Ball State University in 1991. Brian went on to earn a Master of Science (MS) in Acoustics from Penn State University from 1994 to 1999. Brian Tuttle then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Acoustics from Penn State University, completing their studies in 2012.
