Janet Daniels

Janet Daniels is a highly experienced data engineer and senior science analyst with a strong background in mission operations. Janet currently works as a Data Engineer and Work Lead at Analytical Mechanics Associates. Prior to this, they worked at Science Systems and Applications, Inc (SSAI) as a Senior Science Analyst, where they were responsible for the command, control, and analysis of instrument health and safety for the Clouds and the Earth's Radiant Energy System (CERES) mission. Janet also developed custom software for ground calibration and post-launch analysis. Before SSAI, Janet worked at Science Applications International Corporation as a Computer Systems Specialist and Mission Operations Analyst, where they performed command, control, analysis, and 24-hour monitoring of the Halogen Occultation Experiment (HALOE). Janet also worked as a Programmer/Analyst at ST Systems Corporation, supporting the Atmospheric Science Division at NASA Langley Research Center. Prior to their career in the aerospace industry, Janet worked at Christopher Newport University as a tutor in mathematics and engineering courses. Janet also worked as a Summer Data Technician at ST Systems Corporation, where they performed data analysis on the GMC Atmospheric data. Overall, Janet has a diverse range of skills and extensive experience in mission operations, software development, and data analysis.

Janet Daniels obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Mathematics from Christopher Newport University, where they studied from 1988 to 1991. In addition, they hold various certifications including Lost Person Behavior from Virginia Department of Emergency Management, ASHI Instructor in CPR/AED and Wilderness First Responder from Health & Safety Institute, and Field Team Member (FTM) from Virginia Department of Emergency Management. Janet also has certifications in Wilderness Emergency Care from Health & Safety Institute (HSI), and ICS-100, ICS-200, ICS-700, ICS-800, ICS-809 from FEMA. Furthermore, they obtained SARTECH III certification from the National Association For Search And Rescue, and STK Certification for STK 10 Pro, STK/Integration, STK/Terrain, Imagery & Maps, STK/Coverage from Analytical Graphics, Inc.
