Director Of Contracts And Proposals at Analytical Services & Materials

Bala Bala has a diverse work history spanning several industries. The bulk of their experience is with Analytical Services and Materials, Inc. (AS&M), starting in 2004. They began as a Research Scientist, contributing to the development of nano-composite polymeric coatings for erosion-resistant industrial applications. They then advanced to the role of Contract Manager, overseeing subcontract and teaming agreements, managing prime contracts from NASA, the US Navy, and US Air Force, and supporting budgeting, proposal writing, and progress monitoring. Bala Bala eventually became the Director of Contracts and Proposals, responsible for writing and submitting responses to requests for proposals and bids, resulting in significant contract awards. Additionally, they played a role in the market development of AS&M's products and contributed to the company's growth through business development and recruitment efforts.

Outside of AS&M, Bala Bala worked as an Adjunct Faculty in Chemistry at Thomas Nelson Community College from an unknown start date until August 2020. Prior to their work with AS&M, Bala Bala held the position of Senior Scientist and Head at the Jawaharlal Nehru Aluminium Research Development & Design Centre. In this role, they established a world-class analytical research facility, oversaw the installation, operation, and maintenance of various materials characterization equipment, and developed alumina products in the laboratory and pilot-plant scale.

Bala Bala has a strong educational background in the field of science. Bala started their education at TVS High School, where they completed their 1977 Batch. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics & Chemistry at Madura College, Madurai, from 1978 to 1981.

Driven by their passion for science, Bala Bala then enrolled at Madurai Kamaraj University from 1981 to 1983 and earned a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Chemistry. With a desire to further expand their knowledge, they continued their education at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. From 1983 to 1985, they completed a Master's degree in Materials Science.

Displaying their dedication and commitment to academic excellence, Bala Bala pursued a Ph.D. degree in Materials Science at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay from 1985 to 1989. With this significant achievement, they solidified their expertise in the field.
