The site provides information on, and storytelling venues with, the folkloric hero Anansi the Spider-Man who came into an ancient island’s hemisphere of the Taíno civilization where gods dwelled in nature, or roamed the sky, and where the Earth Mother prevailed.

Anansi is the main historic character in some tales that traveled from the Akan-speakers of Ghana, West Africa (Ashanti). His fame has spread throughout the Caribbean, North, Central and South America, wherever the Akan-speakers and some of their neighbors went. There are many books on Anansi and his stories, some have received literary honors. AnansiStories are part of an ancient mythology that is rooted in West African folklore and concerns the
interaction between divine and semi-divine beings, royalty, humans, animals, plants and seemingly
