Christopher Hunter

Scientific Advisor at AnaptysBio

Christopher Hunter, Ph.D. is the Mindy Halikman Heyer President’s Distinguished Chair and former chair of the Department of Pathobiology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Hunter’s research has focused on the host’s immune response to infections and the innate events that lead to the development of long term protective immunity mediated by T and B cells. Chris has used several host-pathogen models to investigate the immune response at the cellular level and the role of cytokine networks that control the balance between protective and pathological immune responses. His findings are relevant to cytokine function in cancer, autoimmunity and inflammatory processes associated with human disease. Dr. Hunter received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Glasgow and did a post-doctoral fellowship in Immunology at Stanford University. He is currently the President-Elect of the International Cytokine and Interferon Society.
