Teja Shidore, Ph.D.

Principal Scientist at Ancera

Teja Shidore, Ph.D. is a Senior Scientist at Ancera since 2021. Prior to that, from 2015 to 2021, they were a Postdoctoral Scientist at The Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station. During their time there, they worked on a project investigating the potential use of nanoparticles (NPs) as RNA molecule delivery agents for RNAi mediated protection against plant viruses. Teja performed small RNA (sRNA) profiling analysis of two recombinant strains of potato virus Y, synthesized double stranded RNA (dsRNA) using in vivo and in vitro synthesis techniques, and synthesized and evaluated the potential of layered double hydroxide (LDH) and chitosan nanoparticles along with few commercially available synthetic NPs for RNAi mediated viral disease control.

Teja Shidore, Ph.D. obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Natural Sciences from the University of Bremen in 2013. Prior to this, they earned a Masters Degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Bremen in 2008. They completed their Bachelors Degree in Microbiology from Savitribai Phule Pune University in 2006. Additionally, Teja Shidore, Ph.D. holds a Goethe Zertifikat B2 (Certificate for B2 level German language proficiency) from the Goethe Institut, Goettingen, Germany.
