Rod Soto

Rod Soto is a Principal Software Engineer at Splunk, actively engaged in machine learning model testing and research related to emerging GenAI threats since March 2019. Previously, Rod held roles such as Senior Principal Security Research Engineer and Principal Security Research Engineer at Splunk, focusing on vulnerability research and detection engineering. In addition to work at Splunk, Rod serves as an instructor at DEF CON, providing training in Cyber Security Operations Center skills, and as an advisor at AnChain.ai, a blockchain security startup. Rod co-founded and served as President of the Pacific Hackers Association, promoting cybersecurity training for underrepresented populations, and held various leadership roles within the Pacific Hackers Conference and Meetup initiatives. Academic credentials include a Graduate Certificate in Artificial Intelligence from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Post Graduate Program in Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence from The University of Texas at Austin.
