Zion Pibowei

Zion Pibowei is an experienced AI and machine learning professional currently serving as the AI/ML Engineering Lead at Andela since August 2025 and as the Founder of AISOC | AI Summer of Code since 2024. Previously, Zion held the position of Head of Data Science & AI at Periculum, where leadership involved driving data science, machine learning, and AI initiatives to enhance operational efficiency for organizations in underserved markets. Other roles include Principal Data Scientist, AI Community Lead at Global AI Hub, and Data Science Practice Lead at GAMES Consort, where contributions included strategic data science consulting and fostering collaboration for impactful client projects. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from Ignatius Ajuru University and a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Renaissance University.
