Rafael Escamilla, Ph.D.

Rafael Escamilla, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience. Rafael currently works as a Product Specialist at Andgo Systems, where they contribute to simplifying complex interactions related to dynamic shift filling and vacation mapping. In their previous role as a Healthcare IT Consultant at Healthtech Consultants, Rafael supported the implementation of an electronic health record system for Alberta Health Services and trained medical staff members in various modules. Rafael also worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, where they focused on research in rehabilitation. Additionally, Rafael served as a Peer Reviewer for scientific journals at MDPI, providing feedback on submitted manuscripts. Rafael also worked as an Advisor at the University of Toronto, supporting student residents and managing conflicts. Prior to that, Rafael worked as a Graduate PhD Research Student at the Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, where they developed and evaluated a gait rehabilitation system for individuals with lower-limb amputation. Rafael has teaching experience as a University Lecturer at the Instituto Politécnico Nacional, where they taught undergraduate students concepts related to process dynamics, operations, and control.
