Michael Stephans

Michael Stephans has over 20 years of work experience in various manufacturing and operations roles. Michael started their career as a Business Practice Specialist at Kraft Foods, North America, where they served as the main point of contact for end users and IT developers, overseeing the development of new ePrograms for the eProcurement group.

After their time at Kraft Foods, Michael worked as an Operations Manager at SMI-IL, where they implemented lean manufacturing initiatives such as 5-S, shop floor layout, and ISO certification to streamline production and improve efficiencies. Michael also focused on improving communication between shifts and with Engineering and Quality teams.

Michael then joined Tempel Steel as a Manufacturing Manager, bringing their experience in lean manufacturing to continuously improve new and existing products. Michael oversaw production in two manufacturing departments and implemented concepts such as 5-S, production flexibility, and "point of use" on the production floor.

Following their role at Tempel Steel, Michael became a Manufacturing Supervisor at Onsrud Cutter LP, where they were responsible for supervising manufacturing operations.

In 2011, Michael joined Andis Company as the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering. In this role, they managed and optimized production functions, implemented Lean Manufacturing concepts, and developed a competent manufacturing leadership team to support growth.

During the same year, they also worked as a Consultant for Volt, specifically with Caterpillar. Michael led a cross-functional team in the early development of new product builds, utilizing skills in project management, cost estimating, negotiation, and effective communication.

Overall, Michael Stephans has a strong background in manufacturing, lean initiatives, project management, and communication, making him a valuable asset in any organization.

Michael Stephans attended Glenbrook North High School for an unspecified period of time. Michael then enrolled at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology. Finally, from 1988 to 1991, they attended The University of Dallas and obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Management.
