Louis Libin

Louis Libin holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Pratt Institute and completed his graduate studies at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Optical Electronics at the MIT Executive Program in 1991. Mr. Libin is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), and is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers. He is also active in the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) and the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE).

Louis Libin joins the Andrea Electronics board, bringing over 19 years of technology and executive managerial experience. Mr. Libin, most recently, is the founder and President of Broad Comm, Inc., a consulting group specializing in advanced television broadcast, interactive TV, Internet Protocol and wireless communications. Through Broad Comm, Mr. Libin has worked with high-profile clients such as General Electric, NBC, CBS, Thomson Consumer Electronics and The International Olympic Committee. Prior to his tenure at Broad Comm, Mr. Libin was Chief Technology Officer for NBC, and was responsible for all business and technical matters for satellite, wireless and communication issues for General Electric and NBC. Since 1989, Mr. Libin has represented the United States on satellite and transmission issues at the International Telecommunications Union (the ITU) in Geneva, Switzerland.

Mr. Libin was also a member of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Advisory Committee, and he was Chairman of the FCC Advisory Group on Wireless Issues. In addition, Mr. Libin is a founder of WOW TV, a Salt Lake City-based interactive television company. Very recently, Mr. Libin served as a technical advisor to the Salt Lake City Olympic Committee.
